N.I.E.
Any foreigner wishing to purchase property or have any other fiscal representation in Spain must obtain a foreigners identification number (Numero de Identificación de Extranjero – N.I.E.) and should appoint a fiscal representative who is resident in Spain. to deal with his or her tax affairs. The fiscal representative must be a person residing in Spain, who can receive in your absence any correspondence from the Spanish administration.
The N.I.E. is your life long Spanish identification number and is personal to you, is not transferable and does not expire.
Obtaining your identification certificate is not complicated, and is part of our service to clients who are purchasing property through us. It requires presenting a valid passport to the "Foreign" service of the Police, and we will accompany you during this process.
